Why Choose to Work with Me?

All About Me

In what now seems a lifetime ago, (perhaps a completely different life altogether) I qualified as a registered nurse and enjoyed a stressful, but immensely rewarding eighteen-year career specialising in intensive care, working on both adult and paediatric units, and an inpatient unit at a hospice providing supportive and palliative care.

As a nurse, I was able to meet the physical needs of a patient, but always felt there were some needs which were not wholly met, as most the interventions received were invasive, which left the individual feeling vulnerable and out of control of many aspects of their illness, healing and subsequently life. This is when I started looking into therapeutic touch, and its positive effects on their physical, psychological, spiritual and emotional being. Bringing this together with my own positive experience of receiving holistic therapies, I decided to retrain and become a therapist, in the hope of empowering other people to take responsibility and control of their own health and well-being.

Fast forward a few years, which have passed in the blink of an eye, I have had to stop doing some of the original therapies, I have replaced them with others which I have researched and benefited from personally. I feel through adding a more diverse range of therapies, I am able to combine therapies, if necessary, in order for us to achieve the best possible outcome from your treatment.

My Practice

I am a fully qualified and fully insured therapist, with a private garden treatment room in the village of Overseal. Overseal is close to junction 11 of the M42, providing easy access for Derbyshire, Leicestershire, and Staffordshire.

I am a registered member of The Association of Reflexologistsnumber 26727, and also The Federation of Holistic Therapists – number 196642.
