What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a gentle and effective therapeutic treatment applied to the feet, hands, but now also the ears and face. It is a holistic therapy that treats you as a whole, incorporating the physical, psychological, and emotional aspects of your being. It follows the principle that there are areas and points on the feet, hands, ears, and face, that map via the nervous system to corresponding parts of the body. When pressure is applied to these areas and points, it stimulates the movement of energy along the nerve channels and helps to restore homeostasis in the whole body.

Sometimes we can find ourselves feeling out of sorts and stressed, which when not dealt with can lead to illness, as our bodies need to be working in balance to keep working effectively and healthily. Reflexology facilitates the body to heal itself, thus restoring the natural balance without invasive, painful intervention.

How does Reflexology Work?

Accumulation of stress can lead to congestion of energy within your body, which can lead to bodily inefficiencies and illness.

Reflexology brings the body back into balance, removing tension and stress, restoring homeostasis, and inducing a deep state of relaxation which at the same time stimulates your body’s own healing processes; It boosts your immune system (which is weakened by constant stress), stimulates the circulation, removes toxins, stabilizes breathing, can help with digestive problems, sinus problems, hormone imbalances, boosts energy levels and induces deep tranquility within your body, mind, and soul.

Once the body has been rebalanced, regular treatments can help to maintain health and general well-being.

What happens during a Reflexology Treatment?

When you book in for a reflexology treatment you can expect to receive an intensely calming, soothing, and deeply relaxing treatment that gives your body what it needs, by bringing about a sense of well-being, balance, and harmony.

For reflexology you will only need to remove your socks and shoes, you will be asked to sit in a reclining chair for the treatment, then all you need to do is lie back, relax and enjoy.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of treatments varies depending on the complaint.
In general, I recommed between 4-6 treatments initially, followed up with regular top-up sessions to help maintain your well-being. The recommendations will be discussed with you at your consultations, as everyone is unique in their requirements.
